Homepage Set Up

This is where we will show you how to setup the functionality of your Home and subsequent pages.

So, from your Admin Home page, select Task 3 "Homepage Set Up"

This will take you to the "Edit your Homepage" screen, where you can add Meta Tags for SEO purposes etc. However at the moment we are sticking with the basics, so Click on "Components" to Add Functionality.

Click on "Add Widgets" to select which functionality you want to put where.

You can choose to:-

  • Add Copy and Pictures using the HTML Content Widget
  • Add a Site Navigation Menu using the Navigation Control Widget (The Area Listing is the same as Navigation Control and is included for legacy systems)
  • Add Links to other websites using the Link Listing Widget
  • Create your own Forms, or Surveys, using the Embedded Survey Widget.

We will leave Sub Pages for the Minute.

We will start with adding a Site Navigation Menu.

Select the Navigation Control Widget, Tick the "Add to all New Pages" button, to save you having to add navigation to every page, and tell CareAbout to Position the Menu at the Top in the Left hand column.

Click Update Widget, and receive the following message.

It is important to Click Update Widget every so often.  It is like saving a spreadsheet, it stops you loosing your work. Once you have seen the "Your Changes have been Saved" Window below, you should close this window and start again from the Edit Widget button on the relevent page.

So let's add in some Content. As Above select the HTML Content Widget:-

In this case we have asked for the content to be placed at the Top (Order 1) of the Center Column.

 

We can then add a Link on the Right

Remember to Update Widget
