Look and Feel Tutorial

We have chosen a range of compatable colours for you. We recommend that you choose one you like the look of and just start building your website. When you have lived with the structure and content of the site for a while, a few weeks for example, you will have a better idea of the types of pictures and colour schemes you are looking for to support your brand proposition.

Always remember to take a BACK UP prior to changing Look and Feel, so you can restore earlier versions.

You will notice that under the Advanced Tools Section, there are links called "Edit Colours" and "Edit CSS"

Edit Colours

Edit Colours allows you to change the colours of any part of your website from the background to the hover over colours on the dropdown boxes in the sub menu's.

This is a simple tool to use, remember to take a BACK UP in case you do not like the change, and familiarise yourself with the terminology for each area from the video below.

Edit CSS

Edit CSS allows you access to the HTML code in the Style Sheet. This allows you to do pretty much whatever you want. Style sheets are very flexible. We are of course at the end of a phone to help you with any requirements you might have.

The Guild of Fine Food

When it comes to the Look and Feel of your website I would like to show you The Guild of Fine Food here as a demonstration of what can be achieved creatively using the CareAbout webtools.

The Guild have a talented full time designer, so don't expect to get there straight away.

Fine Food World is also a good example of how the web can take your brand world wide, and how web based technology can help you run a global brand without a massive number of employees.

The Guild of Fine Food started out as an event management company running events in Earls Court for producers of high quality local produce across the British Isles. Despite being sponsored by local Government development agencies the local producers often had a hard time competing with the supermarkets.

The Guild has helped to change this, and now the exhibitors' produce is in demand across the world, and command the prices of Quality Goods.

This has come about by building competitions such as "The World Cheese Awards", and "The Great Taste Awards". These competitions are now truly Global and are held across the World, creating International markets for the producers. So Congratulations to the Farrand Family and their team.
