Form Filling
Forms are used for Data Capture.
You will need to decide whether or not to run a registration or membership scheme.
By registering on a site your personal details will be recorded, and recognised each time you sign in. This has the customer benefit of only requiring them to complete their personal details once.
Converesly they may not wish to give their details, use Autofill, or be very bad at remembering their password, in which case insisting that they register, can create a barrier to your dialogue.
We recommend that you give the customer the option each time they visit your site. If they are just coming for information, there is no need to register, if they want you to send them something, they will need to supply some details.
Your individual circumstances will dictate the best solution, and that best solution may well change over time.
